Required Materials:
- Crochet hook (appropriate size, based on your yarn choice).
- Yarn (in colors of your choice – usually red or pink for the heart and white for the wings).
- Stitch marker (optional, but helpful for marking the rounds).
- Fiberfill or stuffing material (to fill the heart).
- Scissors.
- Yarn needle (for weaving in loose ends).
Important Notes:
- Beginner Friendly: This tutorial uses primarily cross-stitch single crochet (X-shaped single crochet), suitable for those familiar with basic crochet stitches.
- Special Techniques:
- X-Shape Single Crochet: Insert the hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, and pull through two loops.
- Double Knot or Magic Ring: Either method can be used to start the heart pattern.
- Keep Stitch Counts Accurate: Ensure accurate stitch counts to maintain the symmetry of the heart and wings.
- Tightening the Magic Ring: For a tighter and cleaner finish, a double knot method is recommended rather than a regular magic ring.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Heart Base:
- Round 1: Begin with a double knot/magic ring. Chain (CH) 1 (do not count as a stitch) and work 6 X-shaped single crochets into the ring. Tighten the ring and slip stitch (SS) through the first stitch to close the round.
- Round 2: CH 1 and increase (2 X-shaped single crochets) in each stitch around (12 stitches in total). SS to close the round.
- Round 3: CH 1. Work 1 X-shaped single crochet in the first stitch, then increase in the next. Repeat this pattern 6 times (18 stitches). SS to close the round.
- Round 4: 1 X-shaped single crochet in each stitch around (18 stitches). SS to finish and cut the yarn for the first part of the heart.
Repeat the same steps (Rounds 1–4) for the second part, but do not cut the yarn after completing the second heart piece.
2. Joining the Heart Halves:
- With the second heart piece, CH 1 and join the first heart piece at the stitch before the slip stitch.
- Work 18 X-shaped single crochets across each part (36 stitches in total). SS to close the round.
3. Shaping the Heart:
- Round 6: Work 1 X-shaped single crochet in each stitch around (36 stitches). SS to finish.
- Round 7: Start decreasing. Work 7 X-shaped single crochets, then decrease over the next 2 stitches. Repeat this pattern on each side of the heart. Continue following the decrease pattern for successive rounds until the heart is shaped (rounds 8–13).
- Round 14: Final shaping round with 6 decreases. Insert fiberfill to fill the heart before closing the round completely.

4. Right Wing:
- Attach yarn to the 8th row of the heart.
- Row 1: CH 4. Work 1 unfinished double crochet in the 3rd back bump from the hook and pull through all loops.
- Rows 2–4: CH 4/5 at the start of each row. Work unfinished double crochets and pull through all loops until the wing shape is complete.
- Row 5 (Final Row): Work double crochets and unfinished double crochets, then SS to the heart to secure the wing.

5. Left Wing:
- Attach yarn to the 6th Row on the opposite side of the heart.
- Follow the same steps as the right wing, starting with CH 12 for Row 1, gradually reducing, and shaping the wing over 5 rows.

6. Finishing Touches:
- Weave in all loose ends with a yarn needle.
- If the wings curl, lightly block them or use an iron/hair straightener to flatten them.
- Add a keychain clasp or use as a decorative element for a bouquet.
With these instructions, you will have a cute crocheted heart with wings ready to display or gift!
