Crochet Christmas Reindeer Ornament

Before You Start
This is a small amigurumi-style ornament, so stitch placement matters more than speed. Keep the stitches firm enough that the stuffing does not show through the fabric, and use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of your continuous rounds.
There is also no need to make the face decisions while crocheting the head. Finish the head first, then use the tapered end as your visual guide when positioning the nose and eyes.

Crochet Christmas Reindeer Ornament Pattern
Reindeer Head
Work the head in continuous spiral rounds with Brown Yarn. Since these rounds are not joined, move your stitch marker to the first stitch of each new round as you work.
Round 1: Start with a MR, ch 1, work 6 sc into the magic ring, then pull the tail tight to close the center. [6 sts]

Stuffing the Head
Stuff the head firmly with fiberfill before making the final decrease. Add the stuffing gradually and shape it with your fingers as you go. The goal is a rounded, firm head rather than a hard one; overstuffing can make the remaining stitches difficult to close.
Round 17: Dec x 6. [6 sts]
Finish: Sl st in the next stitch, ch 1, cut the yarn leaving a tail, then use a darning needle to thread through the outer loops of the remaining 6 stitches, pull tight to close, and weave in the tail.
Nose
The nose is intentionally tiny, so work with the same firm tension used for the head.

Shaping the Ears

These pieces are narrow and slightly flexible. Position them between the ears and slightly angled outward rather than pointing straight up. Pin them first so you can judge the symmetry before sewing.
Putting the Reindeer Together
This is the stage where the separate crochet pieces become recognizable as a reindeer. Do not sew everything immediately. Position each piece first, step back, and check the face from the front.
1. Attach the Nose
Pin the Red nose onto the tapered tip of the Brown head, around the Round 1–2 area. Once centered, sew it securely using the Red yarn tail.
2. Position the Ears
Fold each ear slightly to create its curved shape. Place the ears on the sides of the head near Rounds 12–13 and pin them before sewing.
Sew through the base of each ear several times so the pieces stay upright and secure.
3. Add the Antlers
Place the two Cream antlers on top of the head, between the ears and slightly angled outward. Check that both sides look balanced from the front before sewing them in place.
4. Add the Eyes
Attach the black safety eyes or beads above the Red nose. Position them evenly on either side of the face.
Teaching Guide: For such a small ornament, the spacing between the eyes, nose, ears, and antlers has a bigger visual effect than you might expect. If possible, pin or temporarily position the pieces first. It is much easier to correct the expression before the final stitches are sewn.
Optional Ornament Finish
If you want to hang the reindeer on a Christmas tree, attach a small loop of yarn, ribbon, or cord at the top of the head between the antlers. A gold cord can add a little extra holiday detail without changing the crochet itself.
